SHIP SKET
Es beginnt alles mit einer Idee.
Raised amongst the trees of the North Dorset countryside and presently residing in Manchester, Ship Sket grapples with a frenetic and maximalist style that subverts and perverts expectations of UK bass music with equal measure. Shapeshifting through the psychological landscape of the UK's underground sound, his erratic approach to the mix gathers a delirious momentum, tearing through drill, baile funk and ballroom vogue, alongside his own tracks: a production style that is unforgiving and maximalist.

Lunchmeat '23 - SØS Gunver Ryberg & Sybil Montet by Jakub Dolezal
How will music shape our collective future?
Through the evocative power of sound and rhythm, I seek to inspire creativity and resilience. I’m interested in transforming the listener, opening up your consciousness. In dimensions of genre-defying experimental electronic music I create a space for imagination as we need to find new ways and solutions to our challenges.
Through powerful intricate timbres and textures, along with captivating complex new rhythms, an uncompromising intensity creates a music that embodies a blend of futuristic and timeless musicality, fearlessly embracing the present while offering perspectives into an unknown. Music connect us with our surroundings and have the potential to raise awareness, create empathy and promote action to address our challenges.
The core of my work is an exploration of the essence of existence. Music is not entertainment for me, but a necessity. Creating a sustainable future is not only a goal but a way of being, where we are in tune with ourselves and nature, recognizing our interconnectedness with everything.
Listening is not a passive act; it is a gateway to heightened consciousness and attunement. In a world dominated by digital distractions, the act of listening with intentionality becomes a revolutionary act - a means of reclaiming our sensuous being and cultivating a deeper connection. We have the power to shape the future, taking into account our inner and outer worlds and the existential urgency of our time.”
